The Story

The Minox FC 35 is a dedicated electronic flash unit designed specifically for the legendary Minox 35 series of ultra-compact 35mm cameras (like the EL, GL, GT, and PL).

It was styled to perfectly match the sleek, minimalist aesthetic of the Minox bodies, integrating almost seamlessly with the camera's top plate.

Specifications

  • Design: Ultra-compact and lightweight, mirroring the "pocketable" philosophy of the Minox 35 line.

  • Guide Number: Approximately 18 (meters at ISO 100). It’s not a powerhouse, but it is plenty for the street and portrait distances these cameras were designed for.

  • Automatic Mode: It features a built-in computer (sensor) that allows for automatic exposure. You set the aperture on your lens to match the recommendation on the back of the flash, and it cuts the light once the subject is correctly exposed.

  • Power Source: Typically runs on two AAA batteries, making it much easier to power today than the cameras themselves (which often require tricky battery workarounds).
