The Nikon F-801 (sold as the N8008 in the USA) is a 35mm SLR camera that was launched worldwide in June 1988 and manufactured until 1991.
About
It was then replaced by the improved Nikon F-801s (N8008s in the US), which in turn was discontinued in early 1995. Although its autofocus mechanism was slow by modern standards, it was an improvement on Nikon's first attempt at an autofocus SLR - the F-501 (N2020 in North America) - and proved reliable and durable, typical of Nikon's cameras.
Specifications
- A depth-of-field preview button allows you to temporarily stop down to the shooting aperture to check the depth of field.
- A multiple exposure function allows up to nine shots within one frame.
- A unique "two-shot" self-timer. This allows the self-timer to take a second shot a few seconds after the first, resulting in a more relaxed and unposed image.
- Fully programmed auto exposure, aperture priority, shutter priority, and full manual exposure control.
- Shutter speed range from 30 seconds to 1/8000 second with Bulb mode.
- Film speed setting via DX code or by manual override (ISO 6 to 6400).
- Flash synchronization at 1/250 sec.
- Evaluable 2D matrix and 75% center-weighted average metering.
- Compatibility with Nikon Multi-Control back MF-21, which allows freeze focus, data exposure, and auto bracketing.
- UsesΒ 35mmΒ film
- Uses 4 x AA batteries (inlcuded)
